A Message from Jeff

Dear Members of the Peppermill Lake Management District,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to provide you with an important update on our ongoing efforts to manage and improve the health of our beloved Peppermill Lake, specifically regarding the potential purchase of aquatic weed harvesting equipment.

As you may recall, during our annual meeting in September, the membership collectively agreed to formally explore the possibility of acquiring such equipment, provided certain key considerations could be satisfactorily addressed. I am pleased to report that since that meeting, substantial progress has been made.

Our dedicated team conducted thorough research into various vendors and the feasibility of both new and used equipment. This investigation confirmed that moving forward with a purchase is indeed viable and aligns with the parameters set by you, our valued members, during the annual meeting.

In November, a special meeting of the membership was held where these findings were shared. After reviewing everything that was presented, and discussing options, the membership granted their approval for the district to proceed with the purchase.

Following this endorsement, we delved deeper into evaluating the offerings of the most suitable vendors, as well as the availability of used equipment. After careful consideration, we have concluded that a new H5-200 harvester and TC-14K-2 trailer conveyor from Aquamarine would best serve the needs of our Lake District. These pieces of equipment are renowned for their efficiency and reliability, promising to be valuable assets in our efforts to maintain the lake. Additionally, we anticipate being able to take delivery of the equipment prior to the start of the 2024 summer season.

To keep this process moving forward in a timely fashion, another brief special meeting of the membership will need to be held in the next couple of weeks. The purpose of the meeting will be to secure formal approval to borrow the necessary funds to facilitate this important purchase. With the challenges of scheduling due to the upcoming holiday season, we will likely need to hold this meeting on a weekday afternoon before the end of the calendar year. Please be on the lookout soon for the meeting notice.

We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way and look forward to your continued support and involvement in this significant undertaking. Please stay tuned for further details regarding the date and time of the upcoming meeting.

Thank you for your dedication to the health and beauty of Peppermill Lake. Together, we can make a lasting positive impact on our cherished natural resource.
